Bargaining update – September 10, 2020

The bargaining committee met with the employer numerous times over the summer and were able to reach a tentative agreement on August 14, 2020.

Covid 19 has changed the way we do business, a ratification meeting as we have always done it will not be possible.  We feel the best way to do our information meetings and ratification vote is to do it electronically.  This means we need your personal contact information.  Contact information forms have been sent out to all facilities and we ask that all members fill them out ASAP and give them to the CUPE rep in your facility.

Once this is done, information will be sent out regarding the upcoming meetings and the process for the ratification vote.

The re-opening process is set to happen in five phases. As restrictions are gradually lifted, the Government of Saskatchewan and it’s Chief Medical Health Officer will carefully monitor daily the COVID 19 situation in our province as we proceed to move forward.

Education is considered to be in phase five of the plan.  While phases one and two are scheduled to be implemented by May 19th, 2020, dates for implementations of the other phases are yet to be determined.
